Symbols, meanings and healing energy of Kwan Yin: Kwan Yin (sometimes also known as Kuan Yin, Quan Yin or Guan Yin) is revered in Eastern cultures as the goddess of mercy, compassion and forgiveness. In the west, she is respected as an ascended master who symbolizes these same qualities. She is frequently depicted holding a vase pointed downward, symbolizing pouring out mercy for all people. She is associated with children and birth. Women ask her for help in getting pregnant or in having a smooth birth. Some statues and pictures depict her holding a small child. She often holds a pearl in her hand, reflecting her association with the water of the sea. She is almost always depicted standing on a lotus flower. The lotus was thought to be the first flower on earth and it is the divine pattern of the “I AM Presence.”
